Privacy Policy — Pocket Football Survival

This policy covers the Pocket Football Survival app and this website. It explains what we hold, why we hold it, who can see it, and how to get rid of it. We have tried to keep it short and free of hedging.

What we hold

Your account — email address, display name, chosen avatar, and the dates you created the account and last signed in.
Your game — the knockouts you belong to, the teams you pick, and your results.
A device identifier — so we can keep you signed in and deliver messages to the right device.
Your messages — stored only in encrypted form. See below.
A notification token — only if you turn push notifications on.
Support and contact messages — what you send us, so we can reply. If you use the form on this website we also record your IP address, solely to limit spam.
Subscription status — whether your subscription is active, and when it renews or expires.

That is the complete list. We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, or your activity in other apps.

Why we hold it

To sign you in, run your knockouts, sync your game across your devices, send you the notifications you asked for, answer your questions, and — if you subscribe — know that your subscription is active. In data-protection terms, we rely on performing our contract with you, and on your consent for push notifications, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings.

Your messages are end-to-end encrypted

Chat messages are encrypted on your device and decrypted on the devices of the people you are chatting with. They pass through our systems only as encrypted data. We cannot decrypt or otherwise access the content of your messages.

One practical consequence worth knowing: if you lose access to your device, messages sent before you set up a new one cannot be recovered — not by you, and not by us.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal information, or share it for anyone else's advertising.
We do not show you adverts.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not run third-party analytics or advertising software in the app.

Who can see what

Other players in your knockout can see your display name, avatar, picks and results — that is the game. The person who runs your knockout can additionally see your email address, so they can manage the competition and get in touch. Nobody outside your knockout sees any of it.

Payments

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us. Your card details never reach us — we are told only whether your subscription is active and when it next renews. Prices, free trials, renewals, refunds and cancellation are handled through your Apple account settings.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the app — hosting, sending emails such as your sign-in link, and delivering push notifications. They process data only on our instructions and only to provide their service.

We do not give your data to anyone else, except to meet an applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, or to investigate breaches of our Terms and address fraud, security or technical issues. Where we are required to respond, the account information listed above is what we hold.

Where your data is held

Your data is held on servers in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where a service provider processes data outside that area, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data-protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and game data for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it goes — see below. Encrypted messages are removed on the same basis. We may keep basic records of support correspondence, and anything we are legally required to retain, for a limited period after that.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from within the app, in the menu behind your player name. It removes your account, your picks, your place in every knockout, and your messages. It is immediate and cannot be undone.

If you run a knockout as its commissioner, you will be asked to delete or hand it over first, so that your competition does not disappear from under the other players.

You can also email us and we will do it for you.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and involves no real-money gambling — the game is played for pride, and any coins in it are decorative. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has given us their details, email us and we will remove them.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
